Steave Greig’s beloved dog that’s when he decided he should give another dog a good life , but not just any dog. He went to Denver , Colorado at the shelter to adopt the “least adoptable” senior dog , as these are the ones too often overlooked ones. Greig now is a super busy human dad to his 10 elder shelter dogs. Greig wakes up at 5.a.m in the morning each day to make breakfast for his big family. His schedule is filled with walks in the park, vet appointments and he tryes to give the max time to his loved pets.
“Whenever I sit or lie down at a dog-friendly level, there are always at least three or four of [dogs] attached,” Greig writes on Instagram.“They’re just wiser animals,” Greig told The Dodo. “You kind of know what you want out of life once you become a certain age.
These dogs know who they are and it’s easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are. It’s just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy and loved and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.”
“So [I adopted] a 12-year-old Chihuahua [named Eeyore] with a heart murmur and four bad knees and I brought him home and that was just the beginning of all the animals,” Steve told The Dodo.
Steve now has 10 senior dogs living in his house. He has also started branching out and adopting more animals in need. He has taken in two pigeons and two ducks who needed a home. Steve also ended up adopting a pig named Bikini from a friend who wasn’t able to keep her.
Steve was excited about the chance to take home a pet pig, and Bikini ended up fitting in well in his house! The pig thinks she’s a dog, and she gets along especially well with Steve’s Irish Wolfhound, Enoch.
